Allee and I left Wednesday Morning for church camp. We all had the opportunity to learn more about the great "I AM." We were able to experience what it might have been like when GOD came to Moses through the burning bush. Then we were able to reflect on our own lives and how GOD could be speaking to us today. We all have a "burning bush"...What is yours?
We went to Joplin last Sunday to volunteer at a Distribution Point. Before checking in we took the girls into the devastated area so they would have an understanding of what they were helping with. It was such an eye opener. I found myself fight back tears several times. I felt guilty driving through looking at the area. I just wanted to get out and help...but where do you begin? I couldn't bring myself to take pictures. What if that were my home town? Would I want people driving by my home and taking pictures of the wreck that was left?
We were able to meet some of our friends at the distribution point. It was fun getting to serve alongside them. Our family got assigned to help in the Baby tent. While our friends served in the food and medical tents. We helped organzie items that were being donated. We were able to help a few families load up on items that they needed. The families were so thankful for the help and just grateful to be alive.
As we left the distribution point, Hannah says "That is what I am going to do when I am older. Just travel around to devastated areas and help people! Can we come back next week?" :)
As I tucked Allee into bed when we got home she said "I just can't imagine not having all my stuff." What a great lesson on our "stuff" isn't what is important. It is our relationship with God that will get us through any trial that we are faced with.
Emma has painted seveal pictures in the last couple of days and says, "This is Joplin." Interesting to see what is seen through a 6 year olds eyes.
It definatley makes you reflect and think about what is most important in your life. And it confims that our "stuff" is just stuff...It can all be destoyed in an instant. We all need to look at our priorities!
Thank you God for opening our eyes!

Well we headed to Kansas City on Friday evening for Allee's soccer tournament. We decided since we were going to be in the area that we would spend some time with some of our dear friends that moved. We miss them dearly and were so happy to spend some time with them. Thanks Collins for a great weekend! We were so happy to see all of you.
Emma had her 1st gymnastics lesson yesterday! She had a blast! A friend of hers is doing lessons with her but they were gone on vacation. So I am sure that next week will be a ton of fun!

Well it all started 14 years ago when Jesse and I made a commitment to love and cherish each other for the rest of our lives!
We had our 1st beautiful daughter, Hannah shortly after we were married. 3 years and 8 months later we happily added our 2nd precious daughter, Allee. Then God blessed us once again 3 years and 4 months later with our sweet baby girl, Emma.
There are 3 things for sure: We Love the Lord, We Love our Family, and We Love our Friends!
We don't claim to be perfect...We make mistakes...but we try very hard to follow in Jesus' footsteps.
"It takes an act of will for us to make a change. It means breaking old habits. It means admitting that we have been wrong, and this is never easy. It means recognizing that we have the ability to change. These things are terribly hard to do. But unless we turn, we will be trapped forever in yesterday's ways. Lord help us to turn, from callousness to sensitivity, from hostility to love, from pettiness to purpose, from envy to contentment, from carelessness to discipline, from fear to faith."

"People are often unreasonable, illogical and self-centered; Forgive Them Anyway. If you are kind, People may accuse you of selfish, ulterior motives; Be Kind Anyway. If you are successful, you will win some false friends and some true enemies; Succeed Anyway. Be honest and frank, People may cheat you; Be Honest and Frank Anyway. What you spend years building, Someone could destroy overnight; Build Anyway. If you find serenity and happiness, They may be jealous; Be Happy Anyway. The good you do today, people will often forget tomorrow; Do Good Anyway. Give the world the best you have, And it may never be enough; Give The World The Best You've Got Anyway.
